This pattern is expressed by the symbol Tae, Meaning joyfulness. This is the state in which ones minds is kept firm, yet appears gentle so that smile and virtue prevail. When performing this Taegeuk all actions should be performed gently yet forcefully.

  1. Pivot on right foot turn to the left 90 degrees, moving into walking stance, Low section Block (L)

  2. Move the right foot one step forward, walking stance, Mid Section Punch (R)

  3. Pivot on left foot turn to the Right 180 degrees, moving into walking stance, Low section Block (R)

  4. Move the Left foot one step forward, walking stance, Mid Section Punch (L)

  5. Pivot on the right foot to the right 90 degrees, walking stance, Reverse inward Block (R)

  6. Move the right foot one step forward, walking stance, mid section reverse inward Block (L)

  7. Pivot on right foot turn to the left 90 degrees, moving into walking stance, Low section Block (L)

  8. Snap kick (R) stepping forward into Long stance High section Punch (R)

  9. Pivot on left foot turn to the Right 180 degrees, moving into walking stance, Low section Block (R)

  10. Snap Kick (L) stepping forward into Long stance High Section Punch (L)

  11. Pivot on right foot turn to the left 90 degrees, moving into walking stance, High section Block (L)

  12. Move the right foot one step forward, walking stance, High section Block (R)

  13. Pivot on right foot turn to the left 270 degrees, walking stance, Reverse inward block (R)

  14. Pivot on left foot turn to the Right 180 degrees, moving into walking stance, mid section reverse inward Block (L)

  15. Pivot on right foot turn to the left 90 degrees, walking stance, Low section Block (L)

  16. Snap kick (R) stepping forward into walking stance, Mid Section Punch (R)
